Bruins Signed Tuukka Rask To A One Year Deal Worth $1 Million

Tuukka Rask has signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the Boston Bruins.
The Bruins haven’t officially announced the contract, but Rask’s agent has confirmed that he’s signed with the team. Rask was an unrestricted free agent while he recovered from a hip injury. Rask could have gotten more money elsewhere, but he clearly stated he wanted to remain with the Bruins before the season.

“This is our home,” he said. “At this point of my life and my career, I don’t see any reason to go anywhere else, especially with the health I’m looking at now and a recovery time of five or six months. Hopefully it works out that I recover well and we can talk about contracts when the time is right for that.”

Rask should be expected to take over duties shortly, and the Bruins will have to decide what to do with goaltenders Linus Ullmark and Jeremy Swayman. Rask had a 913 SV% in 24 games last season.
