Brett Favre Says Mac Jones Is Like A Young Carbon Copy Of Tom Brady During A Recent Interview

Mac Jones has taken the NFL by storm during his rookie season. The Patriots are suddenly not only in the hunt for the playoffs, but many are starting to call them Super Bowl contenders. Along with that comes obvious comparisons, and with the way the season is going it is hard not to think about the way the 2001 season went.

NFL Hall of Famer Brett Favre compared Mac Jones to Tom Brady during his SiriusXM NFL Radio show.

“It’s premature to crown anyone, a team or player at this point in the season. But, I mean obviously, coach Belichick and Josh McDaniels and the organization chose Mac Jones for a reason. The way he plays, being ready to play instantly and not making mistakes. Really, sort of a young carbon copy of Tom Brady. And it’s obviously way premature to say he is the next Tom Brady, but he plays a lot like him.

“He’s an intellectual player, is not going to beat you with his feet, but his mind and his arm and his pocket presence. He has all those tools. And the team, quite frankly, in all phases is playing exceptionally well and we know they’re well-coached. But a lot can happen between now and the end of the year.”

While it is still too early to say Mac Jones will ever be as great as Tom Brady, which seems like an impossible task he will build his own resume. Mac Jones will have plenty of time to be the first Mac Jones, and hopefully someday future rookie prodigies will be compared to him. One thing is for certain, this kid is special.
