Breaking: Julian Edelman Expected To Miss Three Weeks With Thumb Injury
The Patriots training camp officially opens on Thursday, but Julian Edelman won’t be available for a few weeks. According to a report by ESPN’s Field Yates and Adam Schefter, wide receiver Julian Edelman will be sidelined “around three weeks” because of a left thumb injury; he was spotted over the weekend wearing a small brace on his hand.

This is not the worst thing in the world for the Patriots. This will give the other receivers more time to work with Brady and Edelman should be back with plenty of time to spare to get prepared for the upcoming season. I would expect that they let him fully heal before forcing the issue. Thumb injuries can be tricky so we probably won’t see Edelman in much game action until the season starts. Barring any setbacks, the Super Bowl MVP should be fine by the start of the regular season.
