Bill Belichick Tries To Get A Penalty Called Twice For Extra Room To Punt During The Patriots Blowout Victory Over The Jets
When it comes to playing the New York Jets, Bill Belichick will never show mercy. Up 33-0 in the 4th quarter of tonight’s game Belichick attempted one of his most ruthless stunts during his tenure as the Patriots head coach.
The Patriots decided to punt on 4th down because they were out of field goal range. The Patriots purposely got a delay of game penalty only to have it rejected by New York Jets coach Adam Gase. Instead of moving on and punting it, Belichick had the special teams unit double down and get a false start that would also be declined. Bill couldn’t his smile after taking the extra shot, but this is how the Patriots operate. They play 60 minutes of football regardless of the outcome.
