Antonio Brown Has Been Released By The Patriots
Antonio Brown’s stay with the Patriots was a short one. News has just broke that Antonio Brown has been released by the Patriots. With numerous accusations mounting against Brown the Patriots were left with little choice but to make the move. Perhaps Bill Belichick will be willing to talk about it during his next press conference. The Patriots should be fine without Brown and still have an excellent receiving core.
AB tweeted, “Thank you for the opportunity @Patriots #GoWinIt.” The Patriots confirmed the move with the following statement: “The New England Patriots are releasing Antonio Brown. We appreciate the hard work of many people over the past 11 days, but we feel that it is best to move in a different direction at this time.”
The Patriots hands were tied and they needed to make a decision with Brown’s $9 million dollar bonus due on Monday. The Patriots will be OK with Josh Gordon, Julian Edelman and Phillip Dorsett going forward. Chances are slim of another team picking up Brown at this time. There is a good chance Brown never plays another game in the NFL.
