An NFL Executive Is Pissed Off The Patriots May Have Struck Gold Again With Jarrett Stidham

Is it possible the Patriots have struck gold again with Jarrett Stidham the 4th round pick out of Auburn University. It would appear so, as Bill Belichick has entrusted him to the backup role in his rookie season. The Patriots coaching staff appears to be very fond of their selection but not everyone is happy.

One NFL scouts take on Bleacher Report should be music to Patriots fans ears.

“How the fuck do they always do this? Kid falls right into their laps and looks like the second coming. It’s like Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels undid all the damage Auburn did to him.

At this stage of the game it must be frustrating to compete against the Patriots. In a game that is supposed to have parity, the Patriots have been able to remain dominant for the past 18 years. The last thing the opposition wants to see is another stud quarterback waiting in the wings.

The Patriots have been very good at selecting quarterbacks over the past decade or so. Jarrett Stidham is already making Patriots fans forget about Jimmy Garoppolo with his incredible preseason performance. The rookie still has a lot to learn, but has shown great potential with a high football IQ, good mobility and an accurate cannon for an arm. Stidham also has a strong pocket presence and doesn’t look like a deer in the headlights when the pocket collapses.

Stidham may have a bright future with the Patriots, possibly even taking over for Tom Brady someday. No guarantees there though. There have been a long line of future heirs over the past decade. Nobody could have predicted Brady would play this long. Perhaps Stidham will be traded off two years from now if Brady decides he is going to play until he is 50. For now he gives Pats fans a reason to continue looking forward to a bright future. Long live the Patriots dynasty.
