The writing was on the wall early as Patriots star Defensive Lineman plans on accepting a deal with the Detroit Lions once Free Agency begins on Wednesday. Flowers has agreed to terms on a five-year deal with the Lions, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
It was an expected salary cap casualty. The Patriots probably could have found a way to go after him but they have multiple draft picks and have recently traded for a much cheaper Michael Bennett to hold down the fort. Flowers will reunite with Matt Patricia.
