The Red Sox, fresh off their hirings of a new hitting coach and assistant hitting coach, officially introduced Alex Cora today as the 47th manager of the Boston Red Sox. Cora is a former Red Sox player and the first player to return to the sox team as manager in over 20 years (Butch Hobson). Cora was a favorite in the clubhouse among players, management, and the fans during his playing days on the Sox from 2005-2008.
Cora is coming off a bench coach role for the World Series champion Houston Astros team.
After he was introduced Cora stated, “Boston for a lot of people is a challenge. For me it’s not.” “This is a city that lives baseball 24/7. I come from country where we live baseball 24/7. In my family for breakfast we talk baseball. For lunch we talk baseball and for dinner too. I already lived the Red Sox Nation experience. To come back is amazing.”
Looking forward to 2018!
