Attention Walmart shoppers. Bill Belichick is on the lookout for a new tight end after the Patriots abruptly released newly signed Austin Sefarian-Jenkins who had not attended any Patriots workouts. Per Rapsheet, ASJ is “taking a step away for a month for personal issues.” ASJ has a history of substance-abuse issues and the Patriots can only deal with so much. This will further weaken the gapping hole left by Gronk’s retirement. The Patriots will have to rely on Matt LaCosse and rookie free agent Andrew Beck until Ben Watson returns in week 5.
The #Patriots are cutting TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins, source said. He’s taking a step away for a month for personal issues and the team will release him as he does that. We’ll see if he comes back to New England or anywhere.
