Kyle Van Noy Would Like To Take Cam Newton Out To Dinner After Last Seasons Hostility Between Them

Kyle Van Noy would like to bring Cam Newton to dinner to make sure they are cool after a few run ins they had last season. Van Noy ended up getting in Cam Newton’s face after a scuffle broke out following the Patriots win.

“Of course. Of course. I want to talk to Cam,” Van Noy said on a video conference call Wednesday. “I feel like me and Cam have similar mindsets and that’s to win. I’m excited to work with him. I’ve heard nothing but good things. I think everybody is going to be excited after hopefully we have dinner — I’ll pay for it — and just get to know each other better. I think it’s a good rivalry. Everybody knows everybody. People have played on both sides. So it’s going to be good.”

Van Noy was asked about his part in the fight that ensued after the Patriots defeated Miami the first game of last season.

“I mean, it’s part of football,” Van Noy said. “I think everybody blows it out of proportion when there’s trash talking in football. It’s part of the game. Some players are better than others. Some have terrible jokes, some have good ones. Some can get under skin, some can’t… I don’t think anyone takes it personal. If they do, that’s their deal.”

Newton was not very happy after the scuffle.

“They were reaching for my chain and it kind of did get under my skin,” Newton said.

You can be sure this is water under the bridge. Emotions run high on the field, and it is all part of the game.
