The Patriots may have suffered a heartbreaking loss in the Superbowl, but thankfully the season did not end earlier. According to airliners.net The Patriots may have had a close call with a near tail strike during landing in Fort Lauderdale in December, but it didn’t make any major headlines. The tail appears to be millimeters off the ground and although no damage was reported it certainly may have been in the back of their minds during the Miami game when they lost 27-20.
There is speculation that coach Belichick may have punished the Offensive Line and forced them to sit in the back for giving up 3 sacks to Buffalo the previous week. The rumor is unsubstantiated and thankfully nobody was hurt in the incident.
No word on how close it actually was but it certainly puts losing in perspective.
If I was Bob Kraft I would be investing heavily in the best pilots in the industry for all future flights.
