Former Red Sox Star Ellis Burks Will Begin His Career As A NESN Analyst Tomorrow
Former Red Sox outfielder Ellis Burks will make his NESN studio debut tomorrow prior to the Boston Red Sox series opener against the Baltimore Orioles. Ellis will be working his first game next week, working six straight games: May 11-13 against the Oakland A’s teamed with Dave O’Brien and Dennis Eckersley, and May 14-16 against the Angels, teamed with O’Brien and Jerry Remy.
Burks started his career with the Red Sox in 1987 and played six seasons with the Sox before leaving as a free agent in 1993. Burks had a fantastic 18 year career batting .291 with 352 home runs, 1206 RBI, 1253 runs, 2107 hits, 402 doubles, 63 triples, and 181 stolen base.
Burks returned to the Red Sox in 2004 in limited capacity.
