Done Deal! The Patriots Have Signed Tom Brady To A Contract Extension

Tom Brady and the Patriots agreed on a 2-year contract extension worth $70M through 2021. It creates an additional $5.5 million of cap space for New England this year. The new deal will make Brady the 6th highest-paid QB in the league.

Given Brady’s age and status, a contract extension like this has never been done before. The Patriots were never going to bet against their Hall of Fame quarterback. Still the Patriots will proceed with caution since Brady will be 42 this upcoming season. Last year, Brady wasn’t as productive as usual, although he still led the Patriots to another Super Bowl victory. The Patriots are now using a more run oriented offense to protect Brady. This should give him a legit shot to play until he is 45.

If all goes according to plan this will not be the Goat’s final contract extension.
