Lots of action in Boston sports today! The Red Sox officially introduced Alex Cora as their 47th manager and the Patriots are coming off their bye and setting up for their 2nd half. The Celtics and Bruins have games tonight.
The Celtics riding an 8-game winning streak head into Atlanta to face the Hawks. Atlanta is only 2-8 but coming off a surprise upset of the Cavs yesterday with a 117-115 win in Cleveland. The Celtics sit atop of the Eastern Conference with NBA’s best record so far at 8-2.
The Celtics have been playing very stingy defense under the coaching of Brad Stevens during their win streak and getting all star caliber play out of Kyrie Irving and Al Horford. Young stars Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum are flashing their talents and showing how bright the future looks for this C’s team.
The Bruins play tonight at home vs the Minnesota Wild. Both teams have been battling injury problems and are well outside the playoff picture early in the season so far. Unfortunately, the bruins got some more bad news as their superstar winger Brad Marchand is OUT for tonight’s game. Marchand is listed at day-to-day after taking some tough hits during their last game against Washington. He was noticably hurting, but finished the game and the Bruins will play it safe with him and let him rest tonight.
The Patriots had a bye week and start their second half of the season with a week 10 road match-up in Denver against the Broncos on Sunday. The Pats get the Sunday night prime time game against a struggling Denver team that has lost 4 straight. Brock Osweiler was announced today as the starter for the Broncos.
