Bill Belichick told Josh McDaniels, “I want you to be by my side. I am going to open my world to you”.

Bill Belichick obviously offered Josh McDaniels the deal of a lifetime to remain with the Patriots. Belichick wants to eventually turn the team over to a succesful successor and will now make Josh McDaniels his apprentice. Rise Darth McDaniels, you will be learning everything from the master now. With Bill Belichick being quite arguably the greatest coach of all time making the decision to mold McDaniels as the future all talk of the dynasty coming to an end can be erased. Belichick will now take McDaniels under his wing and teach him his theories on everything he has put together to build a dynasty for the past 18 years.

On Wednesday’s noon edition of Sports Center, ESPN’s Mike Reiss detailed what came out of the meeting.
“They say, would you consider staying if we did this? And the big question is what is this?” Reiss said. “There were two things I’m told that really made Josh McDaniels shift here. No. 1, Bill Belichick said to him, ‘I want you to be by my side. I am going to open my world to you. Show you how I view roster building, how I look at financials and the salary cap.’ To McDaniels, who is 41 years old, the chance to be with Belichick, arguably the greatest coach of all-time, 65 years old, to have that opportunity was viewed as to be extremely valuable to him.

This is fantastic news for New England fans, coach Belichick probably doesn’t even share this much info with his sons. To be able to have McDaniels take over in the future with all the knowledge of the master, the dynasty may survive for many years following Bill’s eventual retirement.
